Luke the Book DVD

A religious education DVD for Primary School children

Following the very successful print version of Luke the Book, which was distributed to over 1700 Primary Schools covering 130,000 children throughout Ireland in 2003, an interactive DVD is now available for use in the classroom.  This exciting RE resource and is currently being distributed to Primary Schools throughout Ireland at a nominal cost of €10.  This initiative is a partnership project between Scripture Union and the National Bible Society of Ireland.

Animation SampleThis innovative project is the first interactive multimedia RE resource to be produced for Irish primary school children aged between 8 and 11.  This DVD combines 22 animated Bible stories from Luke’s gospel covering the Nativity narratives, the Parables and the Passion, death and resurrection of Jesus.  In addition there are ready-to-use Teacher Lesson plans with discussion questions and optional resources.  A dedicated web site is also available to download information or additional resources as well as full transcript of the stories from the CEV Translation.

The development is by Click2Screen, all the animation was created by Annie Brady and was tested in classrooms by a selection of teachers to ensure its relevance and value as a religious education resource for Irish Schools.
